HAND SANITIZERS : FEW DOs and DONT's


Precautions to prevent Sanitizer- Aerosol Driven Ocular Surface Disorders (SADOSD)

With the Covid Pandemic being around since 4 months, use of Hand Sanitizers have increased multifold. It's recommended too as it's Hand sanitisation /disinfection is the best way to protect yourself.

But excess use of Santizers or improper usage can aggravate allergic eye diseases and dryness and if it accidentally enters your eye, it could damage your ocular surface

So, what is the correct way??

1. Keep the nozzle below the eye level while spraying the sanitizer.
2. Keep your eyes closed while spraying it
3. Avoid to spray it along the direction of the blower, fan or air conditioner.
4. Use it only when absolutely essential, washing hands with soap and water is always better
5. Use a protective goggle or face shield if frequent spraying is unavoidable
6. Don't let children use it without supervision
7. If it accidentally enters your eyes, wash your with copious amount of water and do not rub your eyes.
